Illustration Friday: Fail

Illustration Friday: Fail
Pastel
This week's theme is the word "Fail". Once again I FAIL to make a decent meal for my family. Once again I order pizza for supper. I am just thankful my family still loves me even though I fail to take good care of them in the home cooking department.

Illustration Friday: Save

Illustration Friday: Save

Pen

"He reached down from on high and took hold of me; He drew me out of the deep waters." Psalms 18:16.

If you zoom in closely to this picture, you will see it is made up of Bible verses. It took a while to do, but it was very moving to write out the words of what God did for me.

This is based on a Rembrandt painting. I went a little too heavy on the white on his chest and arms, but it is pen so I couldn't change it once it was done.

Illustration Friday: Garden

Illustration Friday: Garden
Watercolor
For this week's theme, I painted a picture of my mom's back yard in Mississippi. She has beautiful flowers all over.
Watercolor is not really my medium. I need to keep practicing. There are a lot of parts about this picture that really bug me. Maybe I will try it again later.

Illustration Friday: Choose

Illustration Friday: Choose
Collage and Colored Pencil
This week's theme for Illustration Friday was the word "Choose". I thought of Ralph Wiggum and a Valentines episode of The Simpsons. Poor Ralph doesn't get any valentines and Lisa feels sorry for him. Out of pity, she gives Ralph a valentine that has a train on it that says , "I Choo-Choo-Choose You". Ralph falls in love with Lisa and hilarity ensues. As Homer says..."Ah, sweet pity, where would my love life be without it!" Happy Valentines Day everyone.

Illustration Friday: Stitch

Illustration Friday: Stitch
Acrylic Paint
This week's theme was "Stitch". It reminded me of my two grandmothers. Both of my grandmothers were avid quilters. I have many wonderful memories of playing underneath my grandmother's quilting frame. One summer, my sister and I went to my Mee Maw's house each week so that she could teach us how to hand quilt. Now I am trying to teach my daughter this beautiful art form. I am a great starter of projects, but often set them aside before they are done. Hopefully, we will get our quilt done one of these days!
